Each Tablet of Avil 25mg contains the active ingredient Pheniramine. Pheniramine belongs to the class of medications known as first-generation antihistamines. Avil 25mg Tablet is an effective antihistamine with a good safety profile. It is useful for the treatment and prevention of several allergic conditions; such as rhinitis, watery eyes, angioneurotic oedema, skin rash, food allergy, serum sickness, and urticaria. It is also useful for the treatment and prevention of motion sickness and sickness caused by inner ear disorders, like Meniere’s disease. Avil 25mg works by blocking the activity of histamine, which is a natural chemical substance present in the body. Histamine is responsible for allergy symptoms. The adults and children over the age of 10 years can take ½ – 1 Tablet (12.5-25 mg) orally up to 3 times a day. 5-10 years old children can take ½ Tablet (12.5 mg) orally up to 3 times a day. Avil 25mg is not recommended for use in children below the age of 5 years. If you skip a dose by any chance, take it as soon as you remember.
