Description

Ingredients: Omeprazole 40mg

Therapeutic Indications: Faast is indicated in adults for the treatment of:

1. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Faast is used to treat GERD. It also helps reduce stomach acid and provides heartburn relief.
2. Peptic Ulcers: Faast can be used to heal duodenal and stomach ulcers.
3. Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome Treatment: A rare condition where tumors in the pancreas or duodenum cause overproduction of stomach acid.
4. Erosive Esophagitis: Inflammation and damage to the esophagus caused by stomach acid.

Precautions: 

1. Use with Vitamin B12: Omeprazole may reduce the absorption of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) due to hypo- or achlorhydria.
2. Pregnancy: There are no adequate or well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Omeprazole should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
3. Nursing Mothers: Because of the potential for serious adverse reactions in nursing infants from omeprazole, a decision should be made whether, to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.
4. Hepatic impairment: Consideration should be given to reducing the dose of omeprazole in patients with impaired hepatic function as bioavailability and half-life can increase.
5. Hypo magnesia: Severe hypomagnesemia has been reported in patients treated with proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) like omeprazole for at least three months, and in most cases for a year.
